In 1898, a band of Spanish officers heroically shielded Baler against Filipino progressive powers for 337 long and tiresome days. This fight, now known as the Siege of Baler, is the setting of a prohibited love between a mestizo warrior and a local Filipina who inhabited the end of the nineteenth century.
