The principle character is a Filipina Overseas Contract Worker, one of the numerous inhabitants of the archipelago who is compelled to abandon her family and accept a higher paying position in a more prosperous Asian nation. While she is working her manager declines to let her take a get-away, nor does he convey her mail to her. She is uninformed, subsequently, that her significant other has kicked the bucket. When she at long last comes back to the Philippines she is met with disdain and contempt by her youngsters. The film contemplates how she conquers these emotions and revamps the association with her family.
