Pedro Calungsod, a youthful Filipino man, leaves his Visayan local roots to join the Spanish Jesuit minister Fr. Diego de San Vitores in his main goal to the Marianas Islands (Guam) in 1668. The San Diego Mission touches base in the Marianas where the youthful Pedro, a prepared catechist and mission collaborator, starts work for Fr. Diego de San Vitores in absolving the Chamorro locals, lecturing the sacred gospel and spreading the uplifting news of salvation through the Christian confidence in the midst of agnosticism, uncertainty and skepticism. Notwithstanding the yearning for his dad and the dangers to their lives, even at the hazard of death, Pedro and Fr. Diego proceeded with their evangelist work. They meandered the unsafe islands and immersed numerous more locals and kept on illuminating them about Christianity. Guam is presently an ardently Catholic state and this is the narrative of how the youthful Filipino holy person, amongst wars and abuses, had influence in this celestial mission.
