The routine of the curious rustic town of Matangtubig is broken with the revelation of a young lady's remaining parts, polluted in an open grass field, another young lady, missing. Claims for equity and a pursuit results, the national media turns its consideration, as the town is put on trial for the privileged insights it keeps, a nearby angler battles with his still, small voice to conceding as witness. The townsfolk move toward becoming elements for respectability and sham, endeavoring to occupy consideration, the town set up its yearly celebration by the lake, accidental of a dozing abhorrent that has come to claim them.
